Emmett is a trans + queer mixed media creative operating in Magandjin(Brisbane). Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Industries [2024] from the Queensland University of Technology - Emmett’s creative practice is informed by his interests in sociology, queer liberation, grassroots activism+technology, and disability advocacy.
As a multimedia visual artist who loves building and developing technical skills that further enrich his creative expression, Emmett understands that creativity is sourced from experiences. Being different has always come naturally to Emmett and navigating life as such has presented many opportunities for learning, growth, love, and art. As a transgender man he has developed integral skills to navigate professional industries and complex problems while facilitating creative, open, and empathic processes.
Emmett revels in alternative means of living and accessing creativity with a specialisation in neurodiverse experiences. Being autistic is integral to his creative expression; opting for authentic modes of creation wherever possible as to closely connect to whatever he creates (he coded this website!). Emmett is a painter at heart and has always been self-driven to develop his artistic skills. His creative practice is informed by an early infatuation with culture and technology. Glued to a Windows 95’ version of MSPaint, Emmett spent his childhood creating and exploring characters, stories, and places online as well as moving within early developmental social web spaces (think Zwinky, mySpace, Club Penguin, imvu). He is deeply interested in alternative means of creating art and being in community.
Emmett is inclined to submerge himself deeply into whatever project he is working on in order to connect and spark passion and motivation and to deliver a well-thought and lovingly crafted product. So - if you're keen to have a chat, flick him an email at emmettlamb42@gmail.com
